What would indicate a need to "bug out"? Lets see, the stock market crashing, a marxist power monger getting into office. As soon as I see the Jack booted Nazis at the end of my drive I'm heading for the hills.

Kidding aside, I live in the country, I have no plans to head for the hills, I already live there. Short of a natural disaster destroying my house (tornado or fire here in the midwest) I see no reason to leave. I have food, medicine, ammo, commo and a defensible position right here. And if the national secrewity force forms, I will live where I am as a criminal. I will do my best to blend in and avoid getting caught.

an isolated structure is not an ideal 'retreat'. Having a home in a small community for mutual support is much better.
