reamer size
« on: December 29, 2008, 07:16:34 AM »
Does anyone know the size of the reamer required for the .357 maximum?  I know it has been given before but I can't find it!

Thanks,

Matt

Yeah, I know it is a .357 maximum...but if I want to buy the reamer, what do I buy?  I may be wrong, but I don't think I can go to a place like McMaster Carr and buy a .357 maximum reamer can I?

For instance:  At McMaster Carr they have selections of reamers:

Straight or spiral cut?

What flute length?  What overall length is required?

How many flutes?

I don't even see a reamer with a .357 diameter at McMaster Carr.  Where else can you buy reamers?  I guess I was not clear on my first post...I want to purchase a reamer.  What and where can I go to make the purchase and what specifically to I specify?

Lots of people make chamber reamers, this is where I get mine.  Give them a call, ask for one for a rifle barrel, it is different from one for a revolver.  Larry

Clymer sells them too, $70 plus pilot for the 357 Max.
