other states
« on: December 29, 2008, 04:37:48 PM »
Here in pa, our gun season is two weeks long. That's just not very long, if you factor in work and other responsibilities. Does anyone have any suggestions about where an out-of-stater might go to hunt, that has plenty of public land,is not too far from pa, and is handgun freindly?

Thanks

You can try Kentucky. Western Ky or any zone 1 county has three week season, Bow hunting is from Sep till Jan 19th and there are two muzzle loader seasons in there along with crossbow. Fire arms alowed are any centerfire rifle or pistol.  Check KDFWR.gov I think is web site or just goggle Ky KDFWR. See what you think.

South Carolina might be your best bet. Their season begins in August and runs until some time in early January I think. Here in Bama our gun season begins the Saturday before Thanksgiving and runs thru Jaunuary. But Bama is a long way from PA I know cuz I have a friend up there I would like to visit but it's a long drive. SC likely would be about half as far.

Yes, come to Illinois, where we gun hunt deer for 3 days in November and 4 days in December? And hundreds of vehicles are wrecked each year because of collisions with deer?
