Did it today- Placed order for Handi in 44 mag

Made the plunge today, it should be here around Jan. 7th, this will be my first handi and if experience is positive may not be my last!! This one has the synthetic stock and scope mount ( I have a 4X Weaver I am gonna put on it). I am pumped!!!
Thanks again to all of you who have helped answer all my questions while researching this decision. If all works well can't beat the price, $225 tax and everything (6% tax here in KY) I will of course let you all know how it goes......

 She will say- OK and the new barrel is for what? Why do you need another stock? Why are you buying the 45-70? Why are you taking it apart again? :D

You are going to like it! I just bought my 44 mag (here in KY too) and now looking for barrels etc...
We might have to get a local chapter of Handi-holics started!

Good luck and keep us posted on how she shoots!

Thanks all for your replies. I can't wait, Jan 7th. I am going to try Hornady Leverevolution loads(225gr) and Hornady XTP loads (240gr), and see how these shoot (will be used for deer). From some of your other posts (separate from this one), these seemed to do well. Hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and will have a safe New Year. Naturally, will post again when I have rifle in hand......

If those do not work out for you, try some Winchester white box 240 grain soft points.
