Sights on 45lc Accessory Barrel
« on: December 27, 2008, 08:30:47 PM »
What type of rear sight does the 45lc accessory barrel come with?Is it dovetail or screw on?Was wondering because I am thinking of getting one and reaming to 460 s&w magnum and mounting a scout scope for hunting in the thick wooded areas where I hunt at.

Its a dovetail like the old Winchesters and Marlin levers. Easy to remove if its in the way. Since the scout set up will be totally custom, I doubt this will be any problem. You just "make" it fit. ;)

I removed mine on mine when I conventionally mounted the Leupold 2X7, but not sure I had to. I just like the look better.

Any one else have an overly large chamber cut in their 45's?  My cases really "balloon" out when I shoot heavy loads.  Had to work on my extractor to let the case move out past it after fireing, it wouldn't come out with out using a cleanig rod to punch it out.  DP

No "ballooning" even with 460 loads.  ??? I've only used Starline brass.

Starline is what I use for any heavier load in 45 colt.  They make a great product.  DP
