I was cleaning & polishing some of my revolvers today & decided to check the cylinder gap on three guns..........
1986 S&W® Mdl 686 - .008" on all 6 chambers
2007 Taurus® Mdl 85ULSS2 - .005" on all 5 chambers
2003 Taurus® Mdl617SS2 - .011" on chambers 1, 2, 6, & 7; .010" on # 3, 4, & 5
Does anyone know what acceptable tolerances for cylinder gap are? Should I send the 617 back to Taurus® for repair? Will they even do anything? The 617 is in perfect time & has no end shake that I can discern. The gun is accurate as all get out. Any advice fellow forum members could provide would be most appreciated.
