Looking for A-Bolt Shotgun

I'm looking for a A-bolt shotgun with a fully rifled barrel. I've tried the auction sites without any luck.If anyone knows of one that is available please let me know. Thank you.-

Hey I have heard of the savage bolt action slugger. I don't have one but I now another very good one. It is the H&R ultra slugger which can but .75 inch patterns at 100 yards, and at 200 yards you can but 6 inch patterns. Now, the H&R is not a bolt action but a single shot slugger, supposedly it is the best gun on the market. I am going to get one this summer so if I were you I would get the H&R why because you can get it for 270.00 dollars at Cabela's. So if you are in a money crunch this is the way to go.

Thanks for the information guys. I've looked at the USG by NEF and it is a really heavy gun. The Savage 210 is another way to go, but it has a history of ejection problems and the stock is a piece of junk. Mcmillon makes an after market stock,but it costs just as much as the shotgun itself.So I'm hoping to find a A-bolt in good condition before trying other options. Thanks for the help.

Sorry... I sent you the link to the Marlin Slugmaster because in my haste I read your post as "a bolt shotgun" not "A-Bolt Shotgun".

If your search for an A-Bolt is unsuccessful, for what it's worth I have a 12 ga. USH and I can attest that they definitely are shooters.
Yes a bit on the heavy side, but if you're hunting from a ground blind it's not a handicap.
The weight absorbs a lot of the recoil and contributes to the barrel holding very steady.
Accuracy and consistency are both top notch.

Another option is the 20 ga. USH and you'll find many converts here that have gone that route.

I bought my savage 210 the first year they came out. I've never had a ejection issue and neither has my buddy. Perhaps it is an issue with those stupid one piece bases they put on them now. You need to have a two piece weaver base.

I have the savage , the stock works nuff said ( kinda agree it ain't pretty ) . have had no ejection problems with 3 inch shells , 23/4 for get it !
It will shoot ! mine out shoots a friends browning a-bolt !

Go out to shotgunworld.com and in the slug shooting section there are posts on how to fix the ejector problem as well as beautifying the stock.

The link was talking about 2 & 3 inch groups at 100 yards. My 20 gu USH can cut .75-1in., if everything goes well. I have never felt undergunned either.  Mike

It does not really come down to accuracy or need but rather what one wants.  Thats the American way!! If it were all about accuracy and meeting your needs for the best price, tarhunt would not exist and neither would any of the custom rifle companies.  If the man wants an a-bolt, the man should have an a-bolt and we should help him to get an a-bolt. 

When I was giving my 870 a makeover, people told me to save my money and buy an USH.  I did not want an USH.  I wanted to transform my trusty old used and abused 870 into a DSG.  I did and I am very pleased with the results.  Everytime I contemplate buying another slug gun much less look at other slug guns, I feel dirty like I am cheating on my 870.

Thanks for the reply. I found one in march 2008. The gun shoots great, and it has the feel of a rifle when you shoulder it. There has been talk in the past that Browning is thinking about producing them again,but the way the economy is and the hit they took on them 10 years ago, who knows? Great trigger for a stock hunting shotgun, and no ejection problems.I'm very happy with this Slug gun and I'm suprised it did not go over better than it did before Browning discontinued them.

It was the price tag that killed them.  They might be able to make it work now with the popularity of tarhunt and the fact that the deerslayer III has about the same price tag as an a-bolt rilfe.  If they would offer it for the same price as their rifles and maybe even offer a stainless model, I bet they could get a peice of the market.

Unfortunatlely they are around the $2500-$3000 mark. They also come with a muzzle break which greatly increases the sound when you shoot. I can deal with the recoil more than the ear piercing sound.
