From those I've handled, mechanically its a 1964-1968 Winchester 1894.  As for quality of materials and assembly and pride of ownership, find a used Marlin or Winchester.

Ponca, get with Williams Gunsight Co and get a higher replacement front sight and a little range time thereafter and your open sights shooting high problem will go away.

Well, with my old eyes, a scope, or more likely, a red dot will be my best bet since they are smaller and handier.........

I've read about those rifles and they sound nice.  They're very reasonably priced and I think it adds some thing different to the 30-30 market.

Not me ! Maybe 10+years from now when I hear raving reviews from long time Marlin/Rem owners saying that this (still) new lever gun makes the old (very) models seem like clubs. OK,I know it is a revamped 94 so it is not a whole new lever gun.Gonna stick w/ my old clubs, they work fine for me,Dad,Gramps, etc.
When all those around you fail to measure up, it is time for a new measuring stick !

Guys,

I don't care.  I just don't care.  It's a new, old lever gun and I got to have one because I want one!  I have no choice!
