handi rifle hvy barrel in 22.250

 new to graybeard! posted this question  elsewhere. i just purchased a new handi  at dicks on clearance  for 165.00!  to save me a few bucks to get started, what factory ammo have you guys tried and had good success with? seems to be a decent setup. it came with a simmons 6x24x50 mm scope .we  shall see if the scope is good enough. but for now i just want to get started getting it sighted in. thanks in advance. tim

Welcome aboard...also, that is a GREAT price with a scope. If that is an early Simmons WTC (Whitetail Classic) scope it should be fine.The older Simmons scopes were very nice...<><....:)

Sure wish i could find a deal like that. I never can, when I have the money to buy it anyways. :'(

I'm snowed in now, so I can't really work on it.  My .22-250 Handi is a bull synthetic.  I'm shooting Hornady 55 gr. V-Maxs, and they are not record breakers in that rifle.  I'm going to try a lighter bullet when the snow clears out.  I think that's what it wants.
