What size bore on this cannon??

A trick question, eh Blaster? Isn't that one of those Spanish made desk displays that are sold on eBay, with a hollow cast barrel made of a zinc/aluminum alloy, with a dummy muzzle face?

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

How about a 17mm bore with a barrel length of 234mm - perhaps brought in a souvenier shop at Portsmouth?

With the amount of pot metal present I would agree it's a display piece if they kept the bore to scale I'd guess 9MM.

Well shoot, looks like there are way too many real knowledgeable cannon folks out here.  I should have posted the picture of the Naval cannon with the powder can for scale, AFTER a few guesses were made and MAYBE could have fooled at least one person.  Now looks like I'm the ONLY casual observer who probably may have thought it was a full size cannon with all the rope, pulleys, chains and trunion keepers.  Just can't fool anyone on this board.  Bought this at a  gun show probably twenty years ago and added it to my little assembly of very small scale models.  Of course, with the barrel being made of pot metal, it is a non-firing model. I'll have to take a few pix of some others that have been accumulated over the years.  At least these little fellows are much easier to tote around although they don't produce "much" noise, fire and smoke. ;)

whatever the caliber is I would guess that you wouldnt firing it .

but ok lets guess its approximately .50

Ive also seen those cannons on ebay  some times ago .
would guess its die cast zink in them of chinese production .

Tomorrow, I'll go out into my "reloading getaway shed" and check that bore size.  I'd do it now but it's 6:15PM and temp is about 14 degrees besides it's "Miller Time". :)

Welllll, I measure it right at .69 caliber.  Although it is nicely detailed, I wouldn't even want to shoot a firecracker off in this one.

Thanks Doug, but I believe the recoil would just beat the hel- out this one.  I'll just be satisfied to continue using it as a dust catcher.
