By the way Tallyho, a wubby is funny name for a blanket that a small child carries around with them day and night.

Blackhawker, that definitely is an off topic gem for me! Thanks. ;D  When I got my very first NEF, a Topper 158 30/30 I lived on an acreage, (early 80's) and I treated it pretty much like a kid would his/her wubby. Surprisingly, my significant other drew the line at me carrying it around the house when the work-day was done. ;)

Cheers

Well said Kerry, thank you.  ;)

Tim

I agree, thanks for posting it.

The one thing forums in general fail to get across is personal inflections and authors true intent. Miss communications are common, I don't know if they ever will, smiles help some, as do repore with other authors as well as continuity in writing. But come across someone whom you haven't read from or know and problems like this can arise. The thickness of ones skin and how seriously they take themselves are two factors that can weigh heavily on the outcomes.
I do feel badly about Blk hawkers miss interpreting my post as an attack. I did PM before hand and after. I did apologise even though I have done nothing wrong. I think the regulars here know where I was coming from. Based on the PMs and posts in this thread.

Ben,
I hope you got the information you where searching from thru all this nonsense. Either one of these calibers fine will do you right.

Tim,
To your credit, allowed this to play out, albeit ready to step in as needed. You stayed neutral and even keeled as always.

As for me, I guess I'll just have to get over it.

I don't think anyone should feel bad, no one intentionally stepped on anyone's toes, sometimes we're just real passionate in our discussions and the lack of body language and physical expression complicates matters.  ;)

I think the whole thing was just overblown.  You come here, toss a subject in the air and expect help, support, praise, flak or sarcasm.  So What.  We're here to help each other, laugh with each other, spar with each other and sometimes even cry with each other.  I know none of us would intentionally go out of his way to ridicule or belittle another person on this forum.

CW has been one of our most helpful and supportive members.  He has a wealth of knowledge, researches his topics, and edits his replies.  In my book, he's right up there with Tim.  I'm proud to have him as a friend.

I have to say that this forum has the best bunch of honest folk that I know of.  We may disagree but that's ok.  I like the statement of my church organization, it says "We shall not contend for our differing views to the disunity of the body."  I think that principle is at work here. ;D

CW,
There is enough dissension between the pro-gunners and the anti-gunners.  There is no need to bring it among ourselves.  Let's just get over it and move on.  There is too much valuable information exchanged here to mutter up things like this.  Let's just both shake hands (cyber shake), say sorry, move on and walk away as men.  I'm tired of it as I'm sure you are...as I'm sure everyone else is.

"sorry!"  ...and sorry to all!

This is a hit in the 10 ring Blackhawker!

And from my perspective, there's no apology necessary. To me, this whole thread has been one that, even though it may have seemed a bit tense for a while, only strengthened the respect and connection among the folks who participated. It certainly made me feel more connection with y'all.

My experience is that it is easy to get along with folks who agree with me, more difficult when my opinion/beliefs are challenged... however, I have learned just as much (maybe more) from the tense times as from the easy times. (Having been a pilot most of my life, I will openly say that I learned much from crappy weather flying, equipment malfunctions, and going into unknown territory. Wasn't necessarily as much fun as I might have liked, but they certainly presented opportunities for learning!)  :o

So to CW, Blackhawker, Tim, Graybeard, and everybody else who participated; I say thanks. As far as I am concerned, it has just strengthened the respect and appreciation I have for the folks on GBO. That is the main results of this thread for me.

Cheers
Kerry
