Here's a Goodie fer ya.
« on: January 02, 2009, 11:17:38 AM »
I just talked on the phone with a gun shop and my gunsmith.  A "Remington Warranty Station", and I said, I suppose now that Rem owns Marlin\H&R\NEF. You'll be doing warranty work on Handis.  I was told, as far as he knew a holding company owned Rem\Marlin\H&R\NEF and he wasn't aware of any obligation to fix Handis.

Now what, Coach???? ??? ???

I just found it a little more than disturbing.  Is Big Green going to back us up, or not??  It seems their dealer/service folks don't know what's going on.

I fix my own

+1  and I would trust myself doing the work on my own rifle, rather than someone else other than the factory trained people.

If the problem is serious enough to need work that you can't do personally, I would rather send it in to be fixed at the factory, with the assurance that if they can't get it right, they send you another gun or replace the part completely with a new one if they can't fix it.

I contacted a local Rem factory Rep with the same question here(Canada) and was informed that he had no instruction from Rem to service Handi's.

The H&R, NEF are still taken care of by a Rep in Ontario.
