I have a 12ga Katahdin turkey barrel and found a Pro hunter forend to fit it. It uses the old Contender type screws and bosses on the barrel, but the spacing is the same as regular Encore barrels. When I purchased a 45-70 Katadin barrel I just switched out the screws and made some leather washers out of an old belt and voila...good to go....free floated and all. It worked so well, I tried the same forend on my 24" .375Win Encore regular taper barrel. Added another leather washer and ....presto...good to go again. There is a little extra space around the barrel but you have to look close to even notice. I had a set of Encore screws(that dang odd size) off another forend and had to space them a little for the Katadin barrel with a couple of small washers under the screw heads. Remove the washers for the standard barrel and they become the right length there too.
GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt
