New ejector spring
« on: December 30, 2008, 12:45:48 PM »
Today while I was buying a 5.7mm drill I found a nice small stiff spring that fits perfectly inside a Handi ejector spring.  I have been looking for one for a long time, I think it will help to solve ejector problems with some of the high pressure cases.  I will find out what the manufacturer number next time I go there, I will cut it to length and equip the PD prize barrel with it.  Only cost me $2.00.  Larry

Looks like a good option if it will compress enough, the coils look real tight tho, might have to be a tad shorter than the main spring. ;)

Larry,

Let me know how it works, my 17 does not eject very well. About 1 or 2 out of 5 eject.

I use a short length of #6 machine screw as a spacer instead of a BB, it keeps the spring straight, the Burris rings clamp screws work great.  8)

my 17HMR will eject 3-4 real good then it starts kicking them about 1/2
way out. I have also had several misfires with it, some i can turn then they fire,
some don't.

Spring arrived today, conversion complete. Now I only need to go buy some more loaded ammo for testing!
