i just bought a ruger m77 in 30-06 with the tang safety and a red but pad. can you tell how old this rifle is by its serial numbers. it came with an older redfield 4-12x ao scope and a cheap sling i paid $375, i dont think i hurt myself on this gun

thanks its a 73-74 year model. i shot it today a little and it shoots real nice. i may have to keep this one

That was a good price.  Usually they'll run that much w/o a scope.

I just bought an identical one for $425 with a 3x9 Leupold. I'd say you got a very good deal. I can't wait to shoot mine.
