How much will a TC Encore pistol cost me? I'm trying to find one in .30-06. Not just the barrel but the frame as well.
Is there a cheaper model?

I would think you are looking at around 600.00 if you are looking at new. I found a frame for 200.00 a barrel and grip set for 250.00 so with a little shopping you can find some good deals. I think in 06 you will have to stay with encore.

You will get higher velocities with a rifle length barrel, but handgun length barrels have plenty of power for hunting.

Not trying to talk you out of a 30-06 pistol barrel, but I used to have one. The recoil was so intense that I didn't even put 20 rounds through before it went on ebay.

The short answer is yes you can get a 22 Hornet barrel for the Encore! However you will have to go to T/C's custom shop or one of the other barrel suppliers. I ordered one from FoxRidge Outfitters (T/C's Custom Shop) and am pleased with the accuracy of the barrel.
On the subject of the 30-06 pistol barrel, I would reconsider that and look at the 308 which is a better match to the 15inch barrel

I bought the 308 barrel for my Encore and I was suprised to find that the velocity between the 308 and 30-06 was only about 100 FPS in the 15 inch barrels. Not enough to justify the increased recoil of the larger cartridge. Just my two cents worth.
