Mount an ring dilemma

I have the Encore with a 26" 22-250 tapered heavy barrel, wanting to hang a Burris 6x24x44 on it. A bit over kill, but I like the mill-dot conception. I started with a T/C Duo ring mt. The height was perfect for the 44mm bell, but I could'nt get the scope far enough away from my eye. I have a couple Weaver mount's, but I need  a new set of rings for it. Guess I can't get over on how ugly the set-up looks with the base hanging over the tapper. I have nearly an inch of base exposed in front of the scope ring. I could probably cut it back to look a little better. But with the price of a good set of rings, I just figured I would go with a 1 peice set-up. I'm looking to go with the Ded-Nutz or a Tally set-up. Not seeing any pic of what either would look like on it. Can someone tell me if the base will hang over the taper or not? Or maybe a pic? After explaning all this, I realize the one peice would probably be the way to go, no matter what it looks like. Oh well, still up for opinion's.

The Dednutz base is only about 3/8" longer than the mounting screws (on each end).  It does not hang over the taper on my 209x50 barrel.

I know the ML has a slow taper from the chamber to the muzzle unlike the step down taper on a heavy rifle barrel. Could you get me the inside length between the rings. If it is as tight as the T/C mt. it will not work for me either.

Base (barrel contact) is 3".  1 15/16" from front mounting screw to front of base.  Rings extend beyond base by 5/8".  Overall length (rings) is 4 5/16".  Between rings is 3 1/16".  Mount rises (with radius) 3/8" on each end from barrel contact to underside of rings.  My opinion is that these are great mounts.  In fact, it improved the eye relief on my dad's 7mm-08 pistol barrel with a Millet scope.  I'm using this mount on my 209x50 and .308 pistol barrels.

Thanks for the spec's, should be quite doable. I had a DNZ mt. on another gun. It was perfect. No lapping. They are a good mt.

use the burris dual dove tail base for the pistol with signiture rings if you want a short base setup. most of mine I use either Warne in matte or Straton Custom or MGM stainless and Warne QD rings. I have a Weaver Grand Slam 6x24 on my Encore 26" in 22-250. set up this way.
I have the Burris set up on a 308 win bull barrel with Leupold 3.5x10x50

The problem is that the scope is so long, I can't get the eyepeice far enough away. It measures 7 1/4" from eyepeice to turrents. 16 1/2" overall w/o the sun sheild.
I've takin my time an free floated the forearm. Now I'm anxious to shoot it. I finally have a decent day. I came across a cheap set of rings I had around. Lapped them in on top of the Weaver. I don't like the set-up one bit. The center of the muzzle end ring is right at 1 1/2" in front of the closest mounting screw. actually hanging a hair over the taper.

I do have a plan B.

Well, for a cobbled up lookin rig, I beleive it to be satisfactory for a huntin gun. I still have plenty of leadway to figure out the correct load. The shells I shot up today was the last of a batch I had for another gun. They were .149 off the lands. Still haven't figured out how I ended up with the last 3 shot group I have. That's way to much jump.
