Taking a trip
« on: January 08, 2009, 10:11:09 AM »
Well I'm off to Florida next week for a few weeks of training then off to Iraq. Hopefully I'll have internet access an be able to check in with you cannon nuts off and on. Maybe I'll find the section of 40mm barrel I've been wanting for the scale armstrong gun I've been dreaming of. If I find any muzzleloaders I'll send Pics.

Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Good luck and Godspeed!

BTW: If you are going to Mayport/Jax for training, then you won't be that far away from us. We live about 100 miles NNW of NAS Jax.

Check with me when you are ready, I do know a source locally to me for the barrel sections, they are about 40-inches long and weigh about 100 lbs, nice bores.  That's what my friend used to build the screw-off-breech cannon I pictured a month or two back.
