Yeah I have one. I see it primarily as a tool for field use when a rod isn't handy such as on a hunting trip. It is so compact you can always have it with you when hunting should you get mud or snow in the end of your barrel. Yeah once or twice in 40+ years afield I have indeed. Or for use with guns in which you can't clean stright thru like semi autos and pump long guns or revolvers. Can be a real handy item for such as those.

Would I ever replace my rods with it? Nope.

I have one also.  I bought it mainly because I hate the thought of running a cleaning rod throught my .22 barrel.  I know .22s don't need much cleaning, but you know you won't be damaging the rifling and crown when using the patchworm.
