reloading the 454 casull
« on: January 14, 2009, 06:23:57 PM »
I am going to start reloading my Taurus 454 and plan on useing h110 and 300 gr. bullets. the question is should I use large rifle primers or magnum, the data seems to go both ways depending what book you use and I also want to use the same powder and primers to reload for 45 long colt

niether you should use small rifle standard primers. the primer ive had the best luck with in the 454 is a winchester small rifle.

BOTH cases are floating around. Current cases are made for the small rifle primers. Best results will be had with them if max loads are what your loading. If your not "pushing the envelope" the LPM will work just fine.
