35 Remington reloads

 I'm "fixinta"(that's Texas for about to) start reloading for my 35 Remington. I would like to use the hornady Leverrevolution bullets. Is anyone using them yet? and if so could you recommend a starting load

I use IMR 3031 but am going to try W 748 and Ramshot TAC as well.  Watch yer overall length on the loads.  The LE brass is shorter than other 35 brass.  DP

"The LE brass is shorter than other 35 brass".......That's simply not true. New Hornaday brass measures 1.912-1.915.(OR less) Which is just fine. I trim my 35 brass, any brand, when needed, down to 1.910 NO lower (as recomended by Lymans #48)

I was just on the Hornady Website (hornady.com) and found a site called FTX bullets.  clicking on this ,discovered all the Flex Tip bullets listed and for each one was a PDF file, 1 page, listing common powders, amounts and expected velocities.  All data was developed to stay under SAAMI specs for each caliber and weapon.  I printed off the ones for my caliber and I noticed that 35 Rem was there also.  There You Go!

I suggest that you look again at the Hornaday FTX bullet loading info site. They do NOT list the 35 Remington. On the M.O.'s forum, it was stated that Hornaday says to use the data listed for the 356 200gr FTX when loading the 35 Rem 200gr gummies. Boy...I'd be careful with that one !! VERY CAREFUL.

223Sharpshooter, you are 100% correct!  Thank you for catching my mis-information.  I been using the 444 and 45-70 as well as 35 rem and ASSUMED that they were all shorter.  My bad.  You would think after a guy turns 56 he would quit assuming things, :-[  maybe this time I'll learn. ::)  DP

dpe.ahoy.....what loads have you found to be accurate in your 35 Rem ? I am using IMR 3031 along with 200gr Rem CL's. I can put 3 rounds in one ragged hole at 60 yards. Good enough for me.

If you haven't picked your powder yet AA 2520 is a good one.  You can easily and safely get 2200 fps with it with 200 grain bullets.  I'm sticking with 200 grain RNCL's for now and as soon as my Midway backordered dies get here I'll be workin up my load. Starting load will be around 38.5 grains for factory level and 41.0 to 42.0 at the upper end. Virtually all load data is made to be safe in the old Model 8 and 81 Remington semi auto's, recoil operated slap traps.  The marlins are much stronger rifles. Do not use any load data that goes beyond factory specs in any old Remington pump or auto. The model 760 is the only exception.

Update.....................I just ordered some 200 gr gummies from Hornady.
Woooooow those puppies are high dollar. with shipping about $.50 a piece

Where did you find the loading date for AA 2520?
My Hdy #7 shows that powder for their 200 gr. RN but not to 2200 fps for sure.

223shooter, all I've used is the IMR3031.  Don't have the load at hand but took it out of the Speer #13 manual.  I really loaded up on the LE's when they were still $16.00 a box.  Haven't reloaded any for almost a year.  Got some brass now though ;D, so will have to get my butt in gear and get going on lots of reloading.  The kids are getting spring fever and so am I.  My 14 year old boy likes the 444P almost as much as I do, and we all like the 357 in the levers.  DP
