I guess I don't get it. If it were a lighter and more compact gun I could see it but if it's, as it appears to be, just a .44 mag with shorter chambers, why bother?

Well for opne it IS on a smaller frame than the standard BH's.  This one is using the medium flat top frame as used with the 50th Ann BH's a few years ago.  Second, if one doesn't already understand the whole .44 special appeal, it's too late to explain.  ;)

Myself, I'm passing since for what I want for a .44 special is going to cost just as much to get one of these as it will to send off one of my current 50th Ann .357's.  Aside from the caliber, they're the same as the 50th Ann models.  What I want is far beyond that.

I had my hands on one at a gun show yesterday. Nice handling gun & this one had a sweet action too.
Can't wait.

*&^&%^  ^%$#  *&^%$#$  :'(

I just got a Single Six 32 Mag with 9" barrel and another Single Six .22 Conv with 9" barrel.  I don't have the funds to get a 44 spec right now.  I hope you don't mind, but I have drooled over your photo for a few days now.   I will have to wait a while and hope they don't all sell out.
