Recently purchased one of these in 22/250......... with scope,rings and bases the SSS adjustable trigger and the rifle  I have less than $450.00 invested


After sighting in at 25 yds I moved the target out to 200 yds these are the results
(solid bench and rest) Temp was 60 Degrees calm day 55 gr reminton factory ammo

Well, there is no denying that those are some nice, tight groups at 200 yards, especially for such a relatively inexpensive new rifle.  Congrats

I have a stevens 200 as well. I have stopped buying NEF handi rifle brls and just buy extra brls for my stevens. 243, 308, 338 Fed, 358 win. and I am thinking of a 270 as well. Coyotes to moose all in the same rifle if I wanted to.
Nice shooting at 200 yds.

The Caliber 22-250 is a great caliber for ground hogs. I have one and thats what I use it for. I have some 70gr bullets loaded for deer if I go to a state that allows deer with a 22 caliber. Great choise!

You showed me what I've been wanting to know.
I've been trying to decide between the model 200 a 12fv and a Remington 700 sps.
I think I can safely go in your direction and save a bunch of money.

If you are groundhoggin' the 200 is an excellent choice. If you are prairie doggin' the 12fv is much better with its heavier barrel. Both will shoot tiny groups.

I'm going to be using it for 'yotes more than anything around where I'm at, along with some groundhogs and feral cats that are out of control.

  Sorry for the delay, yes I do change my own brl's. It is rather easy with a bench vise, brl nut wrench and head space gauges. I wish it was just as easy with all my rifles.

Good shooting, Skwirl,  I have one in 25/06, the best group I've shot was 10" but that was on a calm day at 913 Yds.  100 gr. Sierra flatbase-4831-Fed 215-3300fps-Redfield 6x18 with sandbags on the hood of my Jeep.  Excellent rifles.
45 North, sounds like you have a short action, your 270 will be a single shot.

Could go 270WSM.

The new WSM Savages use a larger shank barrel but early WSM Savages used the standard shank barrel so that will work. They aslo went to a staked ejecter because of the CRF bolt head but I don't think Controled Round Feed is needed with the new centerfeed mags. A magnum bolt head with the standard ejector fits the WSM.

I'd just go 260 or 7mm-08 myself.

Nice shooting Skwirl.

I shoot a FP10 in .223 and it's way accurate. I'd like to get a long action gun and screw on a 26" long 6.5x55 barrel chambered for the 120 and 140 A-MAX bullets. Should be a sweet long range varmint/deer/antelope gun with good barrel life.
