Can anybody tell me how this works? How quick can you switch back and forth to the original caliber?

If you're referring to converting the mdl 22 to 9mm,----------------it's as quick as changing out the barrel and magazines. I have both the 17 and 22 and have just dropped the barrel from the 17 into the 22 and burned a few rounds for kicks. Changing back is equally simple. Not the best solution given the difference in the extractor and breech face, but it works.

I talking about the $200 kit you switch from 9mm to .22lr, I was wanting to know if I could be shooting .22's and then switch back over to my 9mm barrel quickly?

Ok, understood now! I have the Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit for the Glock 17/22 on order from Glock Works. It's on back order, of course. I ordered it on May 27 this year. It costs considerably more than $200 tho! Those I have seen work well, which prompted me to order one. I have a Ciener .22 conversion kit for 1911s. It works great. The .22 conversion kits are a complete upper. It only takes a few seconds to change from the kit to stock and back. Simply a matter of removing the stock slide, replacing it with the conversion unit, and inserting a loaded magazine. Magazines for the conversion are about $30, so a good supply of mags costs more than the conversion. I think the rimfire conversion units are a good investment these days with the cost and availability of centerfire ammo.

We had one for a M21 and it worked fine. I got it used from a guy that said it wouldn't work for him. All I did was clean it and it worked fine. It makes me think there's two rules for the AA kit. It has to be clean, and it needs to used the ammo they say to use in it.

its a whole upper assembly...
to switch all you have to do is field strip and throw on your 9mm assembly
you can switch between 9mm and .22 as fast as you can field strip and reassemble
