browning low wall in 260rem

Anyone ever see one. I heard they chambered a few in this caliber. It would sure make a dandy deer rifle. The 260 may be the finest deer caliber ever produced.  :D What ya think.

I held one in my hands once at a gunshow in B'ham, AL. They had a 7-08 on the same table with it. I've been told by many they were never made and some times I wonder about it myself as I've never seen another or heard of one but dang it I picked them up and held them and sure wanted them but they wanted them a LOT more than I did.

The wood on them was about the best looking I've ever seen on a Browning and they use nice wood. Price was double or a bit more what I paid for my .22 Hornet and .243 LWs. I sure was tempted but didn't have the money with me so was saved from myself.

I can't swear they were factory but I saw nothing to indicate they were not.

Well guess what! I found a 1885 in 260rem. on gunbroker and bought it. Sent the check this morning.  ;D The price was steep but I've never seen another. I'm a happy man. Regards,

I almost bid on that one.
I have been looking for several years. It seems like a .260 comes up every six months or so for sale.
There was one NIB at the Tulsa Gun Show last year. They wanted $2100 and wouldn't come down a dime. I bought an 1885 LW in .243 for $1200. The .260 didn't seem worth the extra $900.

Coincidentally, a friend just called me about a low wall .260 he was looking at. At the time I thought it must be a custom rebarrel and I questioned the advisability of a low wall for a high pressure round but after a bit of research I found they did indeed build them as a factory offering. Really a sleek, slim and light weight rifle, I too would love to have one.

Well guys, I took posession of my 260 in the browning low wall last night. It came a week ago but I was gone on a trip. Arrived home last night to be greeted by a message from my ffl saying it was here. It's every bit as hansome as the one I have in 243.

Now to scope it and sight it in. Regards, ;D

Hay guys, I checked the twist of my low wall in 260 and near as I can tell using the old tight patch method it's 1in 9&1/2". Anyone know what browning specs state.
This means it should shoot 140gr bullets well. 160s are questionable. Anyone have any experience in this area with the browning low walls.
