I have a 4" Bull Barrel Ruger MKIII 22/45 and it is fast becoming my favorite packin pistol.
However mine has been modified to suit my needs.

The first thing I did was have my gunsmith mill off the raised portion of the grip panels that simulated grips. Once milled off flat we then drileld 4 holes (2 in each side) of the grip frame and screwed in 1911 Grip Screw Bushings. Once all this was done I added the Hogue Rugger Finger Groove 1911 Grips.
I then replaced the front sight with a HiViz Fiber Optic Front Sight. When I bought my HiViz Fiber Optic Front Sight I also ordered all the different color inserts they had available in all the sizes they offered. In the end I much prefer the largest green insert.
Next up I replaced the Factory Ruger Trigger with a Clark Custom Guns Steel Ruger Trigger. These triggers come slightly oversized in width at the pivot point so they can be fitted to the individual frame to eliminate the side to side play common with the Ruger Factory Aluminum Trigger.
Next up I replaced the factory sear with a Volquartsen Custom Target Sear. At the same time I also polished up the engagement surface on the Factory Ruger Hammer and made a couple of washers to eliminate the Magazine Disconnect Safety.
The end result is a super handling Handgun with grips that feel great in my hands. I have a super crisp trigger that at slightly under 2 pounds is totally safe in my hands.
I just so happens that this Ruger fits quite well in an Uncle Mikes Kydex Paddle Holster that I use for my Kimber 1911. When I am out and about spending time in the outdoors generally my 4" Bull Barrel Ruger MKIII 22/45 is with me. Yep I made a $260.00 handgun into a $360.00 Handgun but it now suits my needs much better.
