Ordered a Custom Shop Pro Hunter frame last month. The one with 2 gold Bucks...really looks outstanding. Attached a picture ..but it doesn't give proper credit to the engraving quality. (High quality rifle..poor quality camera on my part).

The deer side looks super but there is "metal pitting on the other side" (left side) along and through the engraving.  No sense posting a picture of that side since I lack camera quality. Just makes me sick. Justified putting the money out as my own retirement gift.  Just sent TC an email outlining the problem and requesting return procedures.

One thing I noticed is that the frame was sent in a clear plastic bag...any moisture inside would have been sealed along with the oil coating? Just had one of those days when everything was going bad...my final stop was at the gun shop...and that was bad also! I am home and not going out the rest of the day.

My first TC product and really a great feeling setup..can't wait to get the 280 Remington fired up. The folks on the phone during the ordering process were very helpful....now I get to experience their warranty process.

Nice looking setup hope things work out T/C has been slow to respond since S&W purchased. Stay with it and they will make it right wished I could afford one. I have a 270 pro hunter barrel that is a tack driver. I would mount on frame and leave for a stand alone rifle! Hope your 280 is the same all 4 of my barrels are good shooters and I've been very pleased but the 270 is amazing. Good Luck!

Looking at the receiver..I wonder if the engraving process is electrical. It looks like the receiver was possibly laying on the left side on a metal grounding table and "ground arcing" while the right side was being done?  The pitting looks more like the result of small electrical arcs contacting the frame..especially along the fresh cut engraving lines.
