Here's a link to my friends tutorial on how to make one. They shoot awesome & have built in silencers. after they are on bow you wax heavy w/ beeswax & can remove any hair you like. They will last a loooong time!

I have made a few rawhide bowstrings out of Kangaroo hide , very tough and long wearing .
I did cheat and bought kangaroo rawhide from a local supplier , makes great bow backing as well as it is only a 1/6"th of an inch thick so little preperation .

Was this from a tanned hide or a rawhide. I'm looking to start a bow project this winter and that string looks like it could be good for it. How much poundage will it take per strand.

Tanned hide does not have the strength , bow strings are made from rawhide .
