handi veses ultra

Hello to all, I am thinking about purchasing a handi in 45/70. Is there any difference between the handi and the ultra other than the 24" barrel and laminated stock? thanks guys.

I don't know of any other differences than the barrel lenths.
I do know that not all ultras have laminated stocks.
I just bought a new HY 2008 ULTRA in 204 yesterday and it has a MONTE CATLO PALLET WOOD stock.
The dealer also had another ULTRA with the same wood.
I don't remember what cal it was in.

I believe ultra has different scope mount.

 Welcome to GBO!!!

 We have a wonderful section here at the top of every (most) page. Its called the FAQ's. It is stuffed full of pertinent, commonly asked questions, pertaining to that section. There really is a wealth of knowledge there for any and all. Please check it out. I'm absolutely certain it will answer any and all questions you could have.

 As for this question, the difference is basically just finish or looks. The Ultra is the nicer uptown brother with lam stocks and better metal finishes. While the country boy Handy has hard wood stocks and a bit "matter" metal finishes. Inside all parts interchange and are identical, so you can up grade to lam stocks down the road if you like...
