Getting back into shooting and need a little help.

I have a 14" barrel,and the round is a 240 grain golddot listed at a velocity of 1325fps.

My questions are how high do I sight in at 50 yards to hit dead on at 100 yards. And how much drop will it have at 125 yards.

I know each load is different but I'm trying to get a general Idea.

I shoot the 240gr gold dots with 23.6 gr of h110.The point of impact is the same at 100 yards as it is at 50 yards.I have not shot any longer shots than a 100 yards.

well per "pointblank" coputer program to be on at 100 yards you need to be 2.28 in high
pointblank is a free program and work ok

The only way to find out is to shoot at 100 yards, that's the only technique I've found to be truly reliable. If that doesn't work, sighting in to zero at 50 yards should put you about three inches low at 100 yards. By the way, the muzzle velocity is probably closer to 1600 or 1700fps from a Contender barrel. My 240 grain loads in a 10" barrel are right at 1600fps. The same load from a 6.5" revolver barrel goes 1350fps.

I'm shooting the Nosler 240 gr JHP over 23.5 gr. of W296 and getting 1600 FPS out of my 14" TC. Sighted in 1.0" high at 56 meters my bullets drop 3.0" at 107 meters. The distance to the targets was measured with a laser rangefinder, the berms are considered to be at 50 and 100 meters. Hope this helps.
