Slug Advantage?

How does the latest muzzle loaders compare to the latest shotgun slugs/sabots.  Compare accuracy, velocity, ballistics(exterior, terminal).  Do not compare fastest loading.

The latest slugs will push the 300SST to 2000 fps.  You can get about 1950 fps or so out of a ML, so not much difference.  Any good ML will be far more accurate, however.  I have not had my slug barrel on in years.  I just carry the ML for all gun seasons.

I hunt in IL which allows only a shotgun, ML, or revolver for firearms deer season.  I almost always use my Omega with a 300 grain S/W and (2) pyrodex pellets.  The first shot is the most important and my Omega is very accurate. Plus, it is cheaper than spending the money on the new sabots. Some of the new sabots are pretty impressive but not much better, if at all, than anything one can achieve with a good ML load.  To me, the only advantages of a slug gun are you don't have to clean it immediately and you have a quicker follow up shot if neceassary, especially if pushing deer.
