Judging by what i have in chinese norinco ammo your box of ammo is much newer than the "older" yellow and silver boxed norinco ammo that i have. I even have my very first case of chinese norinco ammo that came on stripper clips too. The crates did have labels that said non corrosive. I never had a problem with norinco ammo. Its been the best accuracy wise too. Remember these crates were also 1440rds too if anyone remembers. (food for thought) When the norinco ammo was available i grabbed every case i could afford till it ran out. I still have my very first case and i shot very little of it. The very first norinco ammo was "AP" ammo.(steel core)
The chinese norinco ammo is one of the most accurate too. I've shot there copper washed 7,62x54r and there 7,62x39 and i have to agree it is. I've heard good things about there 45acp ammo too but i never tried it. The 1 1/2" groups @ 100yds using the norinco ammo in my norinco sks proves its good stuff.
Again my guns are lubed with moly it eliminates all wear, reduces friction and prevents galling. At the sametime it fights corrosion too. What more can i say? I do put a little moly inside the gas systems too.
Now with cleaning processes I clean every gun the same way no matter if its corrosive or not. This way i sleep good at night and don't get up in the middle of the night worring if i did it good enough or not. Trust me i have. Another point is to clean your guns right after shooting them too so you don't forget. I put one gun a side to clean later once and 1 year later i remembered it. Luckily there in a controlled enviroment so no moisture can activate the corrosives. Thats the key to using corrosive ammo it needs moisture to get started. Luckily my svt40 was ok and i learned something about corrosive ammo. If you live in a wet enviroment or a damp enviroment i would be very careful when cleaning and oiling the guns. Make sure you do it right.
ChrisD is right i used hoppe's for eons cleaning my military guns with no problems. I now got my hands on some orginal older "G.I." rifle bore cleaner and some G.I. light weapons oil from colemans surplus. I really don't see any difference between the two except the orginal GI stuff will eat the chrome off a trailer hitch its that strong. The newer G.I. bore cleaner isn't that strong. He is right again about the packaging too. My first case of norinco ammo was on 3 10rd strippers with 30rds in each paper wrapped tied bundle. I believe the yellow boxed norinco came next, then there were green boxes, silver boxes too. Thats about all i can remember.
1. I run patches soaked with hoppes thru the bore washing the bore out from the breech out to the muzzle. I do not run the wet patches from the muzzle towards the breech/chamber because your sending the residue towards the chambers.
2. After washing the bore out with a few wet patches i then run two dry patches to wipe out the bore dry. Remember from the breech out to the muzzle.
3. I then apply gun oil to a patch and again run it from the breech out to the muzzle.
I have read that the white boxed winchester 7,62x39 ammo is just as accurate as the norinco ammo was too. I think some of the other manufactured 7,62x39 ammo had smaller bullet diameters so they weren't accurate. Which gave the sks and ak47 a bad accuracy wrap.
