That article is a good example of a bad "modern education."  The author called the flag in the photo the "stars and bars" but it isn't, it's the battle flag.

Sadly, few today know the difference, even the brightest of our eletist college (poorly) educated dummies.
Common sense is an uncommon virtue

you have every right to fly that flag ,congress in 1978 made that flag one of the official flags of the USA.
The only ones who dont like it are the ones who elected this skid mark into an office that is seeing a lot of abuse in the last 20 years.
windbreak it aint coming down ,in fact more are going up ,we need hope and inspiration now.
To fly that flag makes you just as patriotic as any other flags of this nation.
And the Media said themselves that the era of white guilt is at an end.
So i am not afraid to fly this flag and they can bite me.
In this time i Command ,That you take the Secular to Jerusalem .
There you rid the Holy City of the Scourge of Islam , Make the streets run red with the Blood of those who wish to wash Israel and Christianity from the face of the Earth.

The red in the flag signifies the Blood of Christ.
The blue, Heaven
The white border of the bars, the Purity of Christ
The twelve smaller stars, the Twelve Tribes of Israel
The center star, CHRIST

Beauregard I believe was a very strong Christian. Designer of the flag, WIlliam Porcher Miles I believe lobbied hard to get Bearuegard to accept it.

I drive right by that flag several times a week. It really does make you feel good to see it. If you go to the SCV web page for the Jubal Early camp they have more information on it there.

It's right by I-75 south of I-4 less than a mile. Every time I've been going by it there seems to be enough of a breeze to make sure you can tell what you're looking at.

I went by the flag earlier this week and it was GONE!

I thought Oh great, someone stole the flag. WRONG!

I heard on the news today that it had been taken down for repairs and was taken to a sail maker's shop. It will be going back up again shortly.

I'll try to get a picture of it.

To me that flag represents freedom and liberty.
Any opposition to it represents the spirit of oppression.
The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

“Everyone wants to live at the expense of the State. They forget that the State lives at the expense of everyone.” — Frederic Bastiat
