The last deer season
« on: January 18, 2009, 02:46:08 PM »
Anybody do any good in the last season? It used to be cwd here but it was called anterless again this year in Ogle.I didn't go till today because of work and other things, plus cold and wind.I shot a nice doe this morning though.I went in to check our hunting area and deer sign was everywhere so I got a little careful the farther in I went. There were about 10-12 in a ditch by our treestands that were up and moving around about 10:00. When they made me and went to exit I got a clear shot and got one.First time I finally got one in the 3rd season. It's usually cold, windy or the snow is too noisy,so I was glad to fill a late tag once.

Nope skunked this year. >:(

I saw a deer saturday evening as it was getting dark, raised my encore muzzle loader up and the hammer wouldn't cock. By the time I got done screwing around trying to recock it and set it down to take out my handgun it was gone.

At least I have good hunting buddies that donated some meat for me.
