MRI Baby Eagle 9mm

Just bought this pistol today. It has a 4.5 inch barrel, w/15 round clip.  I am new to semi-auto pistols, but after handling most pistols in this price range(Ruger ,CZ,etc.), this one seem to fit me best.  Anybody own one of these?  Are they a good pistol?  What kind of accuracy can I expect?  I plan on taking it out tomorrow, bought a box of American Eagle 147gr FMJ's to start with.  Any thoughts welcome.

Well today went good.  The pistol performed flawlessly.  Shot only 50 rounds through it, and wished I'd bought more!  No jams, easy loading and seamed to shoot fairly straight out of the box with no sight adjustments yet.  I like the extra heft in this gun, it keeps the muzzle down and on target.  So far I am impressed with this pistol.

I have not shot one, I am more of a Sig, S&W auto guy. The thing that counts id, you like it and it shoots reliable and accurate.

The feel of them isn't too bad... it was the size of the slide (slightly smaller)  that actually kept me away from it, and I bought a ruger p89 instead.  I haven't heard anything bad about them though.  MR is known for making good products.

I've had the Baby Eagle in 9MM for a couple years and it's my favorite shooter.   FMJ or JHP  feed and fire well with no FTF.  Very comfortable in my hand,  and it's my home defense weapon. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

This is my "Baby" Desert Eagle in .45 ACP. Accurate, and runs like a top. I'm seriously considering buying another. I like it's all steel construction, and 10 round compacity. It's getting hard to find an all steel, double stack .45 ACP for under $500.00 these days. Let alone one that shoots this well!  Bill T.

MR gets those from IMI in Isreal.  Those folks don't seem to have much patience for hardware that doesn't work.  Have several friends with them and none would trade them.

I have one in a .40 and I like shooting it.  Never a problem and accurate.

I had a 40 compact.. it had feeding problems that we never resolved. Traded it off. Hope yours keeps going... I still have three mags for it somewhere..

Make sure you run a few hundred more rounds throught it if you are going to make it your go to weapon. Just a thought.

Absoultly.. A "go" weapon/CCW requies much more than just purchasing a fine revolver/pistol with a good rep! All fire arms used for defence or dangerous game must be thourghly vetted.. Unlike our presidents.. I will shut up now!

squirrell guns can be just sighted in and "go"! Unless they are really big squirrells .like the ones in the local park! boy those things get big!

I have an all steel .40 compact and plastic lower 9 sub-compact. Both shoot sub minute-of-paper plate at 10 paces. If you're curious, find an Israeli military training manual. As has been mentioned, they have no patience for failure.
