Well, I have a Remington New Model Army with a Kirst ported conversion I got from River Junction trade company and another Remington with one of the R&D cylinders I got from Midway, both conversions are in .45 Colt. To be honest, I really prefer the Kirst unit better. The chambers are drilled straight but will only hold 5 rounds and a "safety chamber" that is nothing more than a dummy chamber to make it SASS legal to load with 5 rounds. The R&D on the other hand will hold six rounds but the chambers are drilled at a slight angle to allow the rims of 6 cartridges to fit the cylinder. I guess it doesn't cause any problems and it doesn't seem to effect accuracy but one drawback to the R&D cylinder is that when loaded and the rear cover in place, you can't see the rims of the cartridges so they have one firing pin in the white to distinguish which chamber is the empty one. The Kirst unit on the other hand, you can see the rims between the cylinder and top cover.
As far as the make of your pistol goes, bth R&D and Kirst make cylinders for both Uberti and Pietta revolvers. Matter fo fact, my next project is going to be a Uberti .36 Navy Remington converted over to .38 Special with another ported Kirst conversion cylinder.[/url]
