SP-10 shotgun
« on: January 30, 2009, 11:08:33 AM »
I tried to order a new Remington SP-10 Wood stock/blued metal 30" barrel 10-gauge shotgun last week at Cabela's.  I called them today, and they told me (1) their distributor is out of this model and (2) Remington will not be building this model again until July.  I guess they do not manufacture this model continuously.  My question: is this "business as usual" and I should just bide my time and be patient, or is there something amiss about this -- for example, is this a sign that Remington may be discontinuing this firearm or some other disruption?  I normally don't special order firearms, so maybe this is a "rookie" question that more experienced folks can readily answer.

First thing I would do is go somewhere else.(nothing against Cabela's)   Another distributor/middle man probably has 10 in-stock right now!  If price isn't a concern I'm sure any gun shop should be able to get one.
         Good luck,

Visit the big online firearms auction site. I ran a quick search and there are a number of them available now.

Remington does build guns in production runs...that is to say they don't build all the guns all the time.  So, it's entirely reasonable to think that it might be this summer before they build more.  Check on gunbroker, etc. to see what you can find.  Good luck.
