Utilities, taxes, and services add up compared to yesteryears
« on: January 30, 2009, 10:43:17 AM »
Talking to my brother on the phone last night and we started talking about bills and what we pay, etc... and they we started talking about now and say sixty years ago. A dollar seemed to go farther and your TV, coffee maker, etc didn't keep sucking electricity after you turned them off if you even had one back then.

Now we pay an extra $400 - 700 a month
Cable
cell phone
internet
gas
electric
water
sewer
property tax
state
federal
medicare
social security
car insurance
health insurance

Well,
The first three were not around sixty years ago.  For most people that would be at least $200 a month!
