boyds lam fore arm

Just got a boyds lam stock and forearm the forearm seems to be tight to the barrel I'm afraid it will mess with the accuracy any suggestions

Get a dowel the diameter of the barrel, wrap it with sandpaper, and sand until you get the fit you like (or even a little bigger). Apply your favorite finish to the now bare wood to seal things up.

how close to the front barrel screw should I get should i glass bed from the screw to the frame?

Most after market forearms come a little on the tight side. It's easier to take a little off than to add some back. I generally leave about 1/2 inch around both screws and releave the rest to where it doesn't touch at all. Glass bedding works great...but it pretty much dedicates that forend to that particular barrel.

I guess I don't see any reason to glass bed a forearm. I use plastic shims cut from shotgun shells (thanks to the poster who suggested that) to float my forearm, and have plenty of room around the barrel. No reason to make this harder than it has to be.
