T/C 45/410
« on: February 08, 2009, 10:35:42 AM »
I just purchased a T/C 45/410 with screw in choke at a gun show.I have a few questions for the panel.
Where do I get a choke wrench and does anyone make an inexpensive 410 reloading tool? ???
Also when using shot I assume I am to use the choke, what about a slug?
Anybody got a instruction manual on this barrel? And yes I know  to take it out for the 45 colt portion of the show. ;D
Also ,any idea why the rear sight folds? ???
Sometimes I am too impulsive, always wanted one of these, now I got it! ;D

I had one of those at one time and I got my wrench from a fellow that sells them on EBay.
I would say that the rear sight folds down because a vent rib shotgun has no rear sight that is what the rib is for.
As for shooting slugs I would guess that you would remove choke as a slug barrel has no choke and you must remove choke to shoot the long colt ammo.
I hope you have better luck with yours than I did with mine as I could not hit any thing when used as a 45.
I was told by a Thompson dealer that it was meant to shoot 410 but in order to get it approved they had to have it shoot 45 long colt, don't know if this is fact or his opinion.

I had one for years. Never really cared for it myself. I finally traded it here for a barrel I liked.

To shoot slugs, you should remove the choke. Mine shot 410 slugs better than it did 45 colt ammo. I figured it was because of the long chamber.

I never had a wrench for mine, I always just used a quarter (coin) from my pocket. It worked for me. The choke doesn't have to be very tight, just enough to not come out until you want it to.

Good luck with yours.

I ordered a wrench from Ed's Contenders once.
