SS1 triggers
« on: August 08, 2003, 11:23:37 AM »
:D Hello all,
Considering a SS1, but the horror stories a about the trigger rework scares me!
Anyone out there know of smiths that can do a reliable job, or an after-market triggers?  And does anyone mfg. barrels other than Savage?
Thanks, and put 'em in one hole!

Lloyd

:D

WHEN I GOT MINE THE TRIGGER WAS "STIFF" MY GUN SHOP FRIEND
TOOK IT APART AND SMOOTHED UP THE ROUGH EDGES THEN BUFFED IT
WITH THE BUFFER AND COMPOUND, IT SMOOTHED UP AND WORKS ALOT
BETTER.CHEAPER THAN A NEW TRIGGER ASSEMBLY.

Mossberg SSI............

Picked up a Dirty 06 Mossberg SSI and really like it a lot, got the groups down to between 1 and 1 1/2 inch. Trigger wasn't bad as it came from the factory but I took it apart and polished it up some and removed what little grittyness and even lightened it up some. Like it that much better now. Looking for my next barrel now, probably be a 308 Win. Too bad they don't make a 6.5x55 in it. Virgin Valley Custom Guns said they might start making barrels for them if there is enough people interested and call them.
