Mine is very finicky regarding ammo and jams relatively frequently. It's also no target pistol; my Ruger MkII is both easier to shoot and more accurate. That said, I also own a P229, and find the Mosquito a great and inexpensive way to simulate the use of the larger auto. I like mine with reservations.

I've read a lot of mixed reviews. But I bought one anyway. The first 200 rounds through it were Mini-Mags as suggested in the paperwork that comes with it. However, if I was restricted only to Mini-Mags I'd have been pretty unhappy. So far I'v had one FTF and that was the very first round of Mini-Mags, no reason why. But I've shot Thunderbolts, Winchester Power Points, CCI Blazers, and some other Remington plated stuff and no problems. I've had a few duds but that's been the ammo and not the Mosquito. So I'm pretty happy with mine. Extra magazines have  become pretty hard to come by. So enjoy it, I do mine.

My eldest son in Ma. has one and don't remember him saying he's had any problems with it? .22s are known for being finiky with different ammos. I guess you can't please everyone?

Shot my Mosquito Sport for the first time today and I am very pleased. Accurate and functined well. 250 mini-mags, 200 Federal HV Wal-mart Value Pack, and 50 Remmington Golden Bullets. 1 fte and 2 ftf's.  3 minor malfunctions for a break in of 500 rounds is good IMO. The 3 malfunctions were close to the end when the pistol was getting dirty also.I had one ftf on the first strike with the Federals but a second strike in DA and it went bang. I had a blast.
I left the range and went to Wal-Mart and bought 2 more Federal 550 packs for $13.00 a piece. Much more economical than the $6.86 per 100 I paid for the CCI and is just as accurrate and I can't tell the difference when I pull the trigger. Not knocking CCI I know they make a quality product just not woth the $ difference IMO,not for my Mosquito any way. I am glad I a not limited to the expensive ammo.

The trigger felt a little gritty but seemed to smooth out or I just got used to it. The 12 lb DA trigger works great for safety but is so heavy and long its not accurate for me.

I have one on layaway ,have heard good and bad reviews ,the newer ones have had the bugs worked out i hope. Guess i will have to be my own judge .Will clean it and then go to the range for 500 rounds ,sounds fun .
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

etex, your ftf are probably not your gun's fault but the lack of priming material in the shells, IMO?
