I asked Billy Marr if he could make 220 or 240 gr. hard-cast for Thompson 300/221 Barrels. He said if enough people wanted them he would. I would like to experiment with some to see if they stabilize in a Thompson barrel with the 1 in 10 twist at sub-sonic velocities. I have heard from a FEW people that determining rate of twist for a barrel has more to do with length....rather than weight. An unjacketed round-nose would be considerably shorter than a hollow-point boat-tail, so....will it stabilize? If anyone else is interested in this project, let either me or Billy Marr know. I will certainly commit to 500 if we think this might work. If a few more people could commit to a hundered or more, it would help Billy to justify the cost of the dies.
