Need to have several regional ones, Kamerad...with the economy the way it is, some of us are lucky to be able to drive around the block. My State (which ain't a big one) divides pretty well into 4 or 6 regions, depending how you wanna do the dividing. The nice part is that 25 & 50 yd. ranges ain't hard to find; not like the 1000 yd. ones needed for BPCR.
Proclaim "National CapnBall Day", an' get local clubs and Schützvereinen to hold the event for a national coördinating group. Mebbe hold a raffle.

Be kinda fun, wouldn't it? Nobody'd hafta travel too far, nice relaxed atmosphere (well, someof us, anyway), lotsa smoke an' boom, ya could dress up all funny or not...only thing makin' it different from a real old-timey shoot would be the missin' bar'l o' whiskey.
It could be handled like the postals that NMLRA an' NRA run, but shouldn't be limited to members...this is a good way to get new members.
You could run a little "Meet a BP Gun" booth, where newcomers could come up an' take a shot or two. Ain't EVER seen a first-timer shoot a BP weapon that he didn't come away smilin'.

Howdy Marsh,

I think its a great idea. I hate to admit it, but I've got a lemat and a walker that I haven't shot yet! Totally unacceptable!
Just out of curiosity, where are you from in the valley? I grew up in winchester and my parents currently live on the river in front royal. It could be a dual purpose trip. Visit the folks and shoot guns...yeehaw!

Marsh

If you're gonna do it in the Valley or there abouts, I might be able to bring my LeMat and Rogers & Spencer and make some smoke as well.

My son is in Seminary at Lynchburg, and is capable of hitting the proverabial side of a barn with a shotgun but not much, but he may be interested as well.
