Obama Pitches the Nation ...
« on: February 09, 2009, 02:38:01 PM »
was the original title of the story currently ran on FOXNews, that has since been changed to this: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/02/09/obama-takes-stimulus-case-nation-prime-time-press-conference/

I like the first title better  ;D

I'm hopeful for a new story titled: Nation Pitches Obama.

That would or should be front page news!

See the boy can jump start the nation.
I am willing to spend some money on that newspaper right now!

The nation has already been pitched. The Republicans, and the Democrats, and GW Bush, already PITCHED US IN THE CRAPPER, and flushed it before Obama even arrived. Obama is just cleaning the residue out of the toilet bowl. But he is qualified for such duty, and equally dedicated to the task. He will be ever bit as effective as Bush was in his last six months in office. Heck! GW, left him all the tools and manuals he needs to finish up.

Dee- where do you stand?
Are you in the crapper that has already been flushed, or are you hopin to be in the sediment that is left at the bottom of the bowl? I'm still in the bottom of the bowl, tryin to figure out how, or if its even worth tryin to climb out.

Im a white, skilled craftsman, or laborer, depending on what you want me to do. According to the "administration" I don't need a job. The unskilled minorities and women are who really need the jobs. I'm sure glad I wasted 4 1/2 years for my A&P license and 2 years for a cabinetmaking degree., By the way I am a damn good carpenter, and a metal fabricator.

Also i'm an aircraft certified welder, not that that matters- Oshamas crew is gonna make sure skilled workers aren't going to get the jobs.

So what you're saying is that Obama is not the candidate for change?
Someone should have told us sooner ...

Anyone who listened to what the boy was saying all during his campaign could tell he was not the person for the job.
You could see right through him if you looked.
His words and the facts didn't match.
No one cloud do the things he said he was going to do with out raising taxes.
You can't have bigger government with less money.
Our government can't even have a smaller government on the same amount of money.

If some one would run on a platform of smaller government by means of cutting programs I can hear the moans and crying already.
You can't cut this, or we need more money not less.

In the boys plan the only new jobs that will be created will be in the form of more government employees to oversee all the new programs he wants.
I bet it won't help you or your town.

Just take a look at some of the crap they have put in this spending package.
Over half does nothing to help the people who need it.
I won't even try to list it as there is just so much of it.

Yes we need to do something, but make sure it will help, not just make bigger government.
Although that is what the Dems have wanted for a long time,
to controll us.
If they can do that then they can do as they please.

miraige1988, I have long since given up on the present political system as far as the present two parties, and started voting for honesty and integrity, and the Constitution and Bill of Rights. We don't win the BIG offices, but one has to start some where.
At the present time I am at the mercy of the "liberal voters", and the "voters for the lessor of two evils" crowd.
I'm told by some of these voters from BOTH SIDES, that I am wasting my vote for voting for a candidate that is honest and forth right, as he or she has no chance of winning. However, voting for honesty and integrity seem worth while to me.
They however keep getting their candidates in, and I keep getting the shaft from both sides of the same political coin.
I don't see either side winning with the last two presidents, and I voted for Bush twice. Never again will I vote for the lessor of two.

Bingo!!!

Bush and the congress sat on their fat butts for eight long years while this country went down the drain to China.  Am not an Obama fan myself but I'm willing to give the guy a chance.  Like it or not, Obama is going to be president for the next four years, probably eight.

Like a good Republican I voted for the lesser of two evils for 50 years.  Voted for Dubya twice.  Even voted for Juan McAmnesty last fall.  Then I quit the sorry Republican party.  Henceforth and hereafter I will vote for no evil, however slight.  The Republican party is a crap sandwich with mustard:  The Democrat party is a crap sandwich with ketchup.

Give the guy a chance to do what? Finish you off? Last night on nation wide TV, the guy said GOVERNMENT IS THE ONLY WAY OUT.  ::) Government is the problem.
This morning Fox News (the fair and balanced one ::)) announced that the WHITE HOUSE is taking over the CENSUS BUREAU of all things. Gosh, I wonder what that's all about. ::)
Jan 6th, a bill was introduced to ban all magazine fed firearms. That includes PISTOLS and RIFLES. Obama will sign it so fast EVERYONES HEAD WILL SPIN, if it gets thru both houses. Oh yea. You McCain boys? Watch that jackass vote for it.  ;)
Give him a chance? I think I will hang on to my ass instead, while YOU give him a chance. But then again, I would have been doing the same thing if McCain had won. Their both socialists.

You make some pretty good points about the third party and the reasons you choose to vote that way.

I will agree with you on this.

I can see why they tell you your wasting your vote.
It plays out in each election.
I have leaned toward the third party more than once and as you it did no good other than to make me feel better that at least I tried.
I did vote McCain as I said I thought he was the better of the two.
Also to take a vote away from the boy!
To have voted for the third party would not have changed the out come either way and unfortunately my vote didn't change the outcome either.
With all the money & power behind the main 2 parties I really don't see the third party ever getting in, which is a shame as they do have some good people with them along with some good ideas.

I think if we look back we can see that this all really started with BILLY BOY when he opened up the easy credit on new homes to those with little or no credit potential.
At least McCane did try to warn them of this several years ago.
Both sides can take the blame for the problems we are having.
I am a self employed small business owner and to be honest I think most will agree that things were pretty good until 2 years ago.
That is when it started down hill for my business.
Just when the Dems took controll of both sides of the government.
Until that happened I was doing an outstanding business of over a million a year.
Year before last it was down to a little over 250,000.
Last year it was under a 100,000.
All these #s are gross income.
Were the Dems to blame, I don't know, but they sure didn't help the situation any.

Like others have said, we are stuck with the boy for the next 4 years and with the Dems controlling the government for at least the next 2.
That is when we need to make the difference and take back our government.
Then and only then will we have a say again in the way things are done.

Dee, I'm with you 100%... I'm done voting 2 party anymore.  Everyone else can say what they want, but after this last election, when the "golden boy" John McCain dumped out of the party before MO was even counted, hell before 9:00 pm, I knew that I had completley wasted my vote... My wife and most of my family feel the same way.

Screw the 2 party system.
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

Longtom this economic disaster didn't start 2 years ago. It started when the government put the Federal Reserve in charge, and we went off the GOLD STANDARD. What we call money is nothing more than promissory notes, and can be rendered worthless with the printing of more unbacked promissory notes.
Do not misunderstand, I am not going after you, I think we agree on much. What I am saying is the general voting population, and yes, I include MANY on this forum, are LAZY, in capitol letters. They claim patriotism as their own, by voting the lessor of two evils, when in fact it takes COURAGE to stand against the majority in support of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
I don't care what a man says. I am concerned with what he actually does, and in this current two party system there is NO DIFFERENCE, in the Republican and Democratic parties. They are nothing more than two sides to the SAME COIN.
They feather their own nests, vote THEMSELVES pay raises, and outrageous benefits plans, and tell the voting members of their party WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR, and like good little boys and girls, they enjoy their play stations, NASCAR, NFL, and so on, and continue to leave the coyote, and fox guarding THEIR HEN HOUSE!
THEN! Once every four years or so they PIPE UP, and tell everyone how to vote, while they themselves, have not a clue how THEIR CANDIDATE voted.
Apathetic self-righteousness! Don't confuse them with voting records, just vote for the Republican, or the Democrat. It's all we have. ??? BS!

I didn't mean to say it started 2 years ago.
It was long before that.
Just that it showed itself in my business 2 years ago.
I agree whole heartily with you about the process and how the AMERICAN public are told what they want to here then they do as they please with our money and no regards towards what is right or wrong for the country as long as it keeps them in power and puts money, (our money) in their pockets.

I am not a Republication, I lean that way a lot but I consider myself a conservative.

The big question is how do we get the ones who will not see or don't care to wake up and take back this country that was based on the BILL OF RIGHTS & the CONSTITUTION?
How do we teach them that the media is not GOD?
How do we get them to stand together as our forefathers did and say enough is enough?

I try to spread the word of conservatism but how do you speak to a deaf ear?

I hate to say this but maybe this is the wake up call the country needs!

LONGTOM, until these "liberals" and "voters for the lessors", get hungry, they will never change. When they finally see that there is NO SUBSTITUTE FOR RIGHT, and suffer the consequences THEMSELVES, they will not change. Only criticize those whom already have changed.

i am keeping an open mind about the guy, but i expect him to royally screw me over.   they brainwash the kids at school, my autistic 5 year old knows all about him.

Dee,
I voted for Sarah Palin. I don't think McCANE would have lasted four years under the pressure of being the prez. I think she would have been a reality check for him. State Governors are required to have a balanced budget every year. She would have been ONE common-sense voice in washington right now.

Yep the two party system has kept the control in the hands of the corrupt of both parties. I was one that always voted for the lesser of the two evils. That sure as heck has not helped this country.

They have an Iron Clad grip on this sytem and will never let it go.

The Honest Politician..do they have one? Can their in fact ever be one? They make sure that if he is honest and that he or she wants to do the right things that he will never be elected to office.

We are in big big trouble.
