Anyone here have one , I found a used one at the gun shop about four months ago and today I could no longer stand it  ;D ,I took it home and boy is it a shooter. Can't wait to start reloading for it.  TF

I just bought one last weekend.
Have not yet purchased ammo to shoot it.

I just picked one up about a month ago at my gun shop as "used" but never fired  in "All-Weather" laminate stock,a real BEAUTY,for $499 and LOVE IT! Great shooter,can't wait to try it out on some predators ;D

I just shot mine for the first time... #6 trigger 1.2" groups at 40 yards with Hornady factory ammo. I pulled the action out of the stock and found a plastic shim... someone else was not happy with the accuracy of this rifle. I adjusted the trigger to just over #3.
Time to buy another box of ammo.
This rifle may be a good canidate for a Calhoun conversion

Mine has always liked the 46gr Win Hollow Points better than the Hornady 35gr V Max.  I put a spring and sear kit in mine, it made the trigger pull adjustable, HUGE difference.  I also free floated my barrel.

My Ruger hornet shoots all my handloads great I also put a timney spring an sear has a leupold 3x9 on it and thats all and it shoots great. I really like down loading the hornet to around 22 mag velocitys and using Imr 4198 or SR4759 jacketed bullets lots of fun. The 35gr. v-maxs with a max load of H110 is a real tack driver! The Hornet is one of my favorites for shots out to 250yds. anything longer than that a grab the .243.

I once had a Walnut-stocked 77-22 Mag and fell in love with the little rifle but found it lacking in the accuracy department.  Finding and being dependant upon a specific factory load, which I may or may not always be able to find was what lead me to trade it off.  That same rifle in the "handloadable" Hornet is one I have kept a passive eye out for since.  It seems the perfect platform for the Hornet.  Glad to hear positive reports on them.  It will make me start paying closer attention to the "used" racks.

Have one.  Like it a lot.  I stuck the wrong scope on it but have fixed that with a Weaver 3-9X38 that showed up yesterday and will be installed Sat and sighted in Sunday.
Last year I took it Javilina hunting and will again in two weeks. 
Mine like the 35 grain hornady bullets best but will still print OK with the win. 46 grain HP for bigger stuff like Coyote.
The little 35 grain ballistic tips do great on varmints.  Big Style points.

I had a 77/22 Hornet varmint model w/laminated wood.  Really felt good in the hands and shot pretty well--about 1 1/2" or so.  Sometimes a little better.

Traded it for a MK II in 257 Rob and took a good buck this last December.  Would like to have another Hornet, though. :)

I have the standard version(blued/walnut). It shoots very well. I've laso owned a couple of the laminated versions, as well as a few others identical to my current one. I've also loaded for, and still load for a few others in both versions.

With these particular models, one thing has proven consistent. The usually do better with heavier bullets. Most of the ones I've loaded for prefer 50g bullets. The Sierra 50g SMP has proven to be an awsome performer both in accuracy, and terminal results. Some of them have even shined their best with bullets as heavy as 55g. The Sierra 55g GK HP has turned in quite a few sub MOA groups in these guns for me too.

If you own a Ruger Hornet, and are having trouble with the light bullets, try the heavy weights before you give up on it.

Jerry what powder you usin in them 50&55 bullets and velocity u found works best if u don't mind my askin.I have a 77 22 hornet and the best i have gotten so far is 1 1/4 grps and was with 50 v max.

Did a lil work on my ruger 77 22 hornet ,,, If u have one and it will only shoot inch or more grps then u need to free float the barrel . I did just that and my 1 1/4 inch grps have shrunk to .536 with the same  loads. Guess i can work a lil more on loads now.  The  .536 is 50 gr vmax with 9.2 grns of imr 4227.It's like shooting a new gun now.

I had one several years ago, got in a tight spot and sold it and I've regretted it ever since. I loved mine.
