Need some book data for the 223 and Ramshot TAC
« on: February 19, 2009, 12:49:53 PM »
Picked up a pound of Tac the other week but am having a hard time finding any data for the 223 Rem using the 55g Hornady V-max bullets .

My Hornady manual is a few years old and does not list this powder and Ramshots web site does not list it either , I have seen guys talk about using it and am wondering were they got the info , if anyone has this data would you please PM me with it .

Thanks in advance .

Ramshot lists a Hornady 55gr HP in their load guide, should work.  ;)

I just googled it, but I knew Ramshot had a website tho, most powder mfrs have data, ya just have to find it, seems to me Ramshot's website was pretty primitive the last time I checked it out which probably was quite a while back, but with my memory, it's hard tellin.  ::) ;D

Stimpy, was there something in particular that swayed you into buying the Ramshot TAC or was it just the urge to try something different?

Bill

There were a few reasons for the TAC , first being that I had heard good things form most of the people that have used it in other rounds , second its a ball powder and as I have done well with others like BLC-2 , and lastly it was $4.00 a pound cheaper than BLC-2 .

My go-to load is still IMR 4895 , but I'm always looking for that little tighter group .
