Omega Site Problem...
« on: February 11, 2009, 04:49:24 PM »
I have owned a T/C omega for several years now, and I have not been able resolve a sighting problem.  The gun shoots nice groups, but I have to have to hold really low on target to get it to shoot close to center.  The rear sight is down all the way.  Any ideas as to how I might fix this?  I'd also be curious if any of you have tried a rear peep sight for this gun?  Thanks!

Yep!  Had the same problem with my Omega X7, which came with a factory peep sight and fiber optic front sight.  At the rear sight's lowest setting it shot 5+ inches above the point of aim at 25 yards.   I e-mailed TC about the problem and asked for a higher front sight.  They said a higher sight wasn't available, and to send the gun back to them to be "re-lasered" (which I figured involved a barrel bending job).

Well, I didn't send it back.  I put a Simmons 4X ProDiamond shotgun scope on it instead.  That worked out GREAT!

Thanks!  I wish I could put a scope on my Omega, but Colorado doesn't allow optics during ML season.  Maybe I'll hit up T/C, also.

Call T/C, request a taller front sight.  They sent one to me no problem, but that was before they laid everyone off so YMMV.
