Half scale Pendulum Hausse sight?
« on: February 24, 2009, 04:36:45 PM »
I've been using the rear sight from an '03 Springfield rifle as a rear sight for my half scale Napoleon.... it's time to look for something more appropriate.  I've found a few full size Pendulum Hausse sights but not only are they too big they are also somewhat beyond my price range.  So........ anyone out there that can manufacture a 1/2 (or thereabouts) scale Pendulum Hausse sight complete with mounting bracket?  Doesn't have to be brass, just needs to be servicable.  $50.00 is just about the far end of my budget.  Anyone?

If you have any access to machining equipment, maybe try a printers "pica pole" ruler (also called a line guage).  Mill a slot in it, cast a lead bob on the end, and make your seat for it.  Shouldn't be too hard to convert.  You should be able to find them in an art supply store.  http://www.flexopress.com/production/rulers.html
