You will have to ajust your load accordingly but yes , small rifle mag primers can be used , also you can sometimes use small pistol primers in the Hornet depending on the powder and charge your using .

FYI I have used winchester small pistol primers in my Handi rifle 22 Hornet handloads with no problems...the powder used was 296

In a single word NO! The pressure in the .204 is too high for the thin cups of pistol primers. You can use mag rifle, but you will need to start low and work back up on your loads.

cool, thanks. i found some small mag rifle primers, thats it. ill order them quick before they are gone.
